Excursions around the Havelberge Camping Resort

Off to the beach at the camping resort

When you're on vacation at Havelberge Camping Resort, there's plenty to discover in the surrounding area. Here are some of the most exciting excursion destinations that you shouldn't miss:

Müritz National Park

Cycling & Hiking

The Müritz National Park, which is ideal for nature lovers with around 400 kilometers of hiking and cycling trails, is just a few minutes away from Havelberge Camping Park. Here you can observe sea eagles and ospreys in the wild and experience the impressive diversity of the local flora and fauna.

A special attraction are the old beech forests in the Serrahn sub-area, which give you an impression of the primeval forests of Germany.

Pottery, forging and felting

Immerse yourself in the history of the Slavic tribes who settled in the Mecklenburg Lake District between the 7th and 12th centuries.

In the Slavic village of Neustrelitz, located directly on Lake Zierk, you can experience first-hand how the Slavs lived back then. Thanks to a wooden jetty, canoeists can dock directly at the village. The site has recreated clay and wooden huts where you can try your hand at traditional crafts such as pottery, blacksmithing and felting. From the twelve-metre-high watchtower, you have a great view over the entire area. If you want to experience the Slavic village from the water, you can take a trip in the faithfully recreated Slavic boat "Nakon".

Mirow Castle Island

In the footsteps of kings

An excursion to the castle island of Mirow takes you back to the glorious times of the Mecklenburg nobility.

The baroque Mirow Castle, built between 1749 and 1752, impresses with its magnificent ballroom. Right next to it is the 3-Queens-Palace, which takes you on a journey through the history of the region with an exciting exhibition. The idyllic palace park is perfect for a stroll and the arched bridge takes you to the romantic Liebesinsel.

After exploring the island, you can relax in the café on the outdoor terrace and let your gaze wander over Lake Mirov.

An die Paddel, fertig, los!

Explore the Mecklenburg Lake District from the water!

The Havelberge Camping Resort offers you the opportunity to hire canoes or rafts and discover the surrounding lakes and rivers. Enjoy the tranquillity of nature and be enchanted by the beauty of the landscape.

Havelberge forest ropes course

Climbing tour for the whole family

The Havelberge forest ropes course is located directly on the campsite. After an exciting climbing tour, you can fortify yourself with an ice cream sundae or a hot waffle in the cozy café right next door. The forest ropes course is perfect for an adventurous afternoon with the whole family.

Festivals and operettas

Neustrelitz Palace Gardens are a scenic highlight on the edge of the royal seat.

Originally laid out in the style of a French baroque garden, today the garden combines different eras and impresses with ornate buildings such as the classicist orangery and the neo-Gothic palace church. The Avenue of the Gods, lined with statues of ancient deities, is just as worth seeing as the temple of the goddess Hebe in the center of the park.

In summer, the palace garden provides the perfect setting for the Neustrelitz Festival and open-air operettas.
